Published: Friday, March 20, 2009 6:35 PM MST

A Green Valley man was seriously injured last week when a car struck his grocery cart in the Continental Shopping Plaza, knocking him to the ground.

The accident occurred March 11, when a motorist driving through the parking lot hit the man’s cart, which hit him in the chest and threw him to the ground, according to a Pima County Sheriff’s report.

A Green Valley Fire crew treated the 77-year-old man, who was bleeding from his head and ears, according to the report. He was taken to University Medical Center in Tucson for treatment.

KUAT cutting

analog signal early

Public television station KUAT (Channel 6) will make the switch to all-digital broadcast on April 1, well ahead of the June 12 federal deadline.

Recent weather damage to KUAT’s broadcast equipment on Mt. Bigelow influenced the decision, said Jack Gibson, director and general manager of Arizona Public Media.

As of April 1, a television capable of receiving a digital signal or a digital converter box will be necessary to get the station. Those with satellite TV or cable are not affected.
