C-Span bus heads to Sahuarita, Green Valley

The C-SPAN Civics Bus is on the road on its “100 Days, 100 Schools” tour.

The 45-foot mobile production studio and demonstration center will travel to Sahuarita and Green Valley on Friday, and Tucson over the weekend, making stops at Anza Trail School, Joyner-Green Valley Branch Library and the Tucson Festival of Books.

Anza Trail School is the 47th school visited as the bus heads for 100 schools during the first 100 days of the new presidential administration. The bus will be there from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The bus will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Friday at the library, 601 N. La Canada Dr. It will be at the Tucson Festival of Books on the UA campus from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cox Communications is hosting the bus during its visit to the Tucson area.

Students, teachers and other visitors can tour the bus and learn about the many resources C-SPAN offers, including the network’s education web site, C-SPAN Classroom ( www.c-spanclassroom.org), a free membership service for educators with downloadable video clips; the C-SPAN Video library (www.c-spanarchives.org ); and C-SPAN’s television coverage of the new administration.

This is the 16th year the bus has hit the road.
