March 13, 14

Good Shepherd United Church of Christ is having its annual Rummage Sale March 13 and 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. Bargains galore at the church, 1o7750 S. La Canada Drive, Sahuarita, including furniture, clothing, small appliances, kitchen items, books, electronics and tools.

March 14

March 15, 2011 will mark the 300th anniversary of Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino’s death. In anticipation of this event, there will be a special memorial Mass on Saturday, March 14, at noon at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Tucson. Padre Eusebio Kino was a noted Jesuit missionary in Southern Arizona and Northern Sonora, Mexico. Diana Hadley, head of the Office of Ethnohistoric Research/documentary relations of the Southwest at Arizona State Museum, and Fred McAninch, retired curator, Arizona Historical Society, will talk on Kino’s legacy before the Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Celebrate the photography of Tom Vezo at 7 p.m. at Valley Presbyterian Church, 2800 S. Camino del Sol, Green Valley. Presented by Friends of Madera Canyon and open to all. Tickets are $20 at the door. Call 625-5023 for information.

March 15


United Methodist Youth Fellowship meets from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Green Valley Community Church, 300 W. Esperanza Blvd. This is a community youth group, all youth in 6th through 12th grades are invited. For more info, contact Shauna Melvin at 625-4712.

March 22

Unitarian Universalist Congregation’s Social Action Sunday on March 22 at 10 a.m. presents the PBS film about Habitat for Humanity which follows Rosalyn and Jimmy Carter around the world viewing their various work projects. All are welcome. The church is at 3660 S. Camino del Sol.

April 14

Green Valley Assistance Services will be at the Sahuarita Baptist Church on the second Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assist seniors and/or disabled persons in a benefits check up. Also available will be information on case management for seniors and qualifications for monetary assistance.
