Foothills Townhouse IV HOA board meets at 9:15 a.m. at the Bank of America meeting room.

Green Valley Branch No. 77, Fleet Reserve Assn. will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the Cow Palace Restaurant in Amado. Active duty, reserve and retired personnel and honorably discharged former members of all services who have had some enlisted service in the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard, and their spouses are welcome. Green Valley Forum meets at 10 a.m. at East Center. Julie Johnson will discuss her life and the publication of her novel, which took nine years to write. She has overcome alcoholism and a stint in prison. All GVR members and their eligible guests are welcome.

Green Valley Village will have its spring market today and March 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Theme is “Support Local Businesses ... Buy Locally.” Includes merchant sidewalk sales, Optimist sausages, hot dogs, Kettle Korn, Gelato and more. Entertainment: Friday at noon Jorge Vasco, “Music of the Andes,” the Silver Strummers and the Green Valley Aires Barbershop Chorus. Saturday Vasco returns and there will be visits by Tanya Valdez, Miss Pima County 2009, and Amber Norgaard, 2007 Tammie Award as Best New Entertainer. At 3 p.m. the Village will host its second Pet Pawrade benefiting The Animal League of Green Valley. Bring your pets and fashion sense. The Village is off of Esperanza Boulevard near Interstate 19, exit 65.

League of Women Voters of Green Valley meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Madera Room, La Vista building at La Posada. Speaker will be Paul Newman, newly elected Arizona Corporation Commissioner, who will explain the workings of the corporation. Public is welcome. Oregon Club of Green Valley will at a potluck at 5 p.m. at Desert Hills Social Center. All past, present residents of the state who are GVR members in good standing and their guests, with passes, are invited. Benderly Concert Series sponsored by the Santa Cruz Foundation for the Performing Arts will present Celtic Harpist Maeve Gilchrist and percussionist Nick Falk at 7 p.m. at the home of Ken and Kathy Morrow on the Mesa in Patagonia. Green Valley Desert Gardeners meet at 1:30 p.m. at La Posada’s rec center. UA Professor Robert Scarborough will follow up on his January presentation with a focus on global climate change and what it means to our area and the world. Green Valley Aquabelles invite swimmers interested in Synchronize Swimming to an information session from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Madera Vista Rec Center. Meet the Aquabelles, ask questions, enjoy a snack. The swimmers practice from May until their show in September. Swimmers need to be in Green Valley during the summer and must be GVR members.
