BusinessCustom homebuilder turns craft into a symphony
By Mark BollinSpecial to the Green Valley News Pennsylvania native Lorin Jacobson has homebuilding in her blood. After earning degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1989, Jacobson entered the family business, Jacobson Homes, as an administrator. Ten years later, Jacobson ended her tenure there as president of the company. Jacobson continued her career in 1999 in Tubac, as vice president of construction for Dorn Homes Inc. and Tubac Homes, LLC. Now, Jacobson has put her talent to work for her new company, Jacobson Custom Homes, in Tubac. “My passion has always been to work with clients from site selection and design through to the finished product,” Jacobson said. “What makes custom homebuilding both rewarding and challenging is understanding the unique personalities and desires of clients, then delivering a high-quality home that exudes that personality and exceeds their expectations,” she said. Jacobson said delivering exceptional custom homes is much like conducting an orchestra. “The process from site selection to final design is much like writing a musical script, then you have to engage the right contractors with the appropriate skills to deliver the final product,” she said. In addition to completing several custom homes in southern Arizona, Jacobson works on special commercial builds as well. She was involved in design and construction of the new Central Pet complex in Amado. Unique to this business is the availability of individual pet suites, including beds and flat-screen TVs, giving pets more of a “vacation” rather than a cage. Contact Jacobson at 520-975-8469 or go to her web site, www.lorinjacobsonhomes.com.
