ObituariesFRANCINE PURDOM LATHAM, of Green Valley,
passed away peacefully at her home on Feb. 24, 2009. She was born on Feb. 26, 1921, in Floydada, Texas, to Ella and Cecil “Jack” Purdom. She resided in and around Amarillo, Texas, for 54 years. She was married to her childhood sweetheart R.B. Latham in 1937, and was the mother of two sons, Beau and Jack Latham. She and R.B. were partners in ranching and farming near Pampa and Hereford, Texas. Francine enjoyed music teaching, Sunday school and Methodist Youth Fellowship, volunteer work, and freelance fashion modeling. She was a member of the Community Methodist Church in Green Valley since 1976. Her retirement years were spent with her husband and family in the beautiful Southwest desert enjoying the magnificent mountain views and Green Valley activities. She was preceded in death by her son Jack; her husband R.B.; brother R. Don Purdom; parents Ella and Jack Purdom; and an infant grandson. She is survived by son Beau Latham of Amarillo and Green Valley; daughters-in-law Roberta Latham of Tucson and Linda Latham of Garland, Texas; and by seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Francine will be remembered at a private family service at one of her favorite locations near Green Valley. She will be very much missed by all of her family and friends. Country Club, Tucson, AZ 85716.
