ROBERT “BOB” ROOF, 66,

formerly of Peoria, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1942, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roof in Peoria. He is survived by his wife Charlene; sons Eric (Stephanie) Roof and Todd (Karen) Stevens; daughters Andrea McKeighan, Nicole (Chad) Robinson, and Tammi (Marc) Kuhn; and one brother, Charles of Palm Desert, Calif. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson Noah.

Upon retiring from Caterpillar Inc. after 35 years of dedicated service, Mr. Roof moved to Green Valley, where he enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, and the company of friends.

A memorial in honor of Mr. Roof’s memory will be held at Canoa Ranch Grill on the Green on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Pancreatic Cancer Association or the American Cancer Society.
