A dollar’s value

Published: Saturday, December 27, 2008 7:25 PM MST

Editor:

A few months ago inflation figures were shown in a local paper.

It seems that a $20 bill would be needed to buy what a one-dollar bill would have bought in the 50s.

A Swiss Frank would buy four times as much as in the 1950s.

The dollar has become less valuable as they continue to print more and more, like food stamps, and have the same backing, i.e. zero.
