NewsOn the San Pedro River north of Benson and east of the Rincon Mountains is the settlement of Cascabel. And this year, again, residents are holding the 28th Cascabel Fair Saturday and Sunday, where local artisans exhibit their wares, often in their front yards. Visitors drive a while, then stop and shop a while walking from vendor to vendor. The fair will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. To get there drive to Benson on Interstate 10, and take exit No. 306 and head north to mile marker 20. The participating artisans say the road’s paved to mile marker 15. The announcement says, “Artists, Food, Music & More.” The website, www.cascabel.org, lists some of the things that are available, unique Christmas decorations, pottery sales, paintings, fiber works, wood arts, jewelry, leather and photography. On the road to Cascabel from I-10 at about milepost 7, is the Forever Home Donkey Rescue, a privately run sanctuary. It welcomes visitors. jlamb@gvnews.com | 547-9749
