‘Toys for Tots’ drive begins next Friday

The Toys for Tots annual collection of toys will begin on Friday, Nov. 28th and end on Dec. 20th, 2008. This year, Toys for Tots has joined forces with D.A.D. Promotions and Miracle’s Inc. of Arizona to ensure that as many toys as possible will be collected and distributed.

Gunny Sergeant Scott J. Gibson said in a press release, “I have teamed up D.A.D. Promotions and Miracle’s Inc. of Arizona to raise money and toys this year. With this team effort we hope to capitalize on all the generosity the community has to offer. In the past, these organizations have focused on the same goal of bringing hope to children at Christmas, and now we can combine efforts to make sure that no child goes without a toy and a smile this Christmas season.”

These three organizations are combining their strengths. Toys for Tots will be responsible for collecting the toys, and Miracle’s Inc. of Arizona’s main responsibility will be to distribute the toys. D.A.D. Promotions’ contribution will be to secure sponsors and funds to purchase more toys and pay for some of the expenses.

This year, Toys for Tots (Marines) will have boxes in over 200 locations to collect toys.

This year their goal is to ask the public to open their hearts and put a smile on Southern Arizona children’s faces.
