Sahuarita Christian Academy asks for tax credit donations

Published: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 10:28 PM MST

The Sahuarita Christian Academy, a rapidly-growing private school, is asking for contributions from the community to help them continue to grow.

Specifically, the academy needs Arizona Tax Credits, which are reimbursed by the state after a qualifying taxpayer’s return is filed.

The Arizona Tax credit allows for a single person to give $500 and for married persons $1,000 of their annual income dollars to any school.

The academy has 140 students in its K-12 program and 110 students on a waiting list, David Lyon, executive director of the school, said in a recent appeal letter. According to that letter, the school has doubled in size each semester since it opened last year.

For more information, contact the school at 648-0601.
