Chilly conditions don’t spoil Santa Cruz tourney

Fifty-one shivering souls teed it up at Canoa Hills on Friday, Nov. 7, for the Santa Cruz Seniors Golf Club’s monthly outing. The temperature was in the low 40s at tee time, but that didn’t keep the winning team from shooting 25-under par in the two-net best-ball event.

Bob Nicholas, Dick Pearl, Jim Lawlor and Bill Lehman shot 15-under to take home fifth-place money. Only three shots separated the next three places.

Fourth place went to Larry Poe, the day’s medalist, Bob Ferrier, Ron Harris and Bill Bos with a 124. One shot back came Dave Siliven, Dennis Dinwiddie, Bruce Atkinson, and Mike Moioffer, while one shot back of them in second place were Nick Charles, Del Smith, Jim Mork and Bob Houlas.

The monthly champions were Jim Hudson, Jack Oshel, and Duane Nealy, who, with the help of the famous “blind draw,” shot a neat 119.

Bill Phinney won two of the closest to the pin prizes, while Keith Karstad and Paul Witzlib won the other two. Next month, the event will be at Torres Blancas on Friday, the fifth.

" Hi
This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone. The above thought is smart and doesn’t require any further addition. It’s perfect thought from my side.
