TSO String Quartet comes to Green Valley

Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s String Quartet will play in Green Valley, Sunday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S. Camino Del Sol.
Performing will be Carla Ecker and Ellen Chamberlain, violins; Ilona Vukovic-Gay, viola; and Mary Beth Tyndall, cello.
The quartet will open the program with Franz Joseph Haydn’s “String Quartet Op. 76, No. 2 Quinten,” followed by çstor Piazzolla’s “Four for Tango.” After the intermission, the group will play ”String Quartet Op. 17, No. 2” by B/la Bart—k and “Tango La vi Ilegar” by Enrique Francini.
The recital series is sponsored by the Green Valley News & Sun as well as the Friends and Admirers of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra—known affectionately as FATSO.
FATSO is a Green Valley area TSO support group dedicated to bringing symphony music to Green Valley and to taking its members to five dinner-symphony concert events—via bus—each season.
Becoming a member of FATSO entitles individuals to attend any or all of five pre-selected concert events including dinner, concert ticket, and round-trip transportation at a cost of $65 per person per event. Annual dues are $35 per person.
