Obituariesand formerly of Green Valley, passed away at Fair Haven Christian Nursing Home in Decatur, Ill., on Nov. 1, 2008. He was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Paxton, Ind., to Vernon A. and Dema (Denton) Boyll. He served in the military during WWII and married Lois (Van Vactor) Boyll in 1942. She preceded him in death. Al was involved in the management of several construction projects of nursing facilities and motels before working for Montgomery Ward, from which he retired after 27 years. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by Gwen M. (Anderson) Boyll of Decatur, his wife of 23 years; daughters Cheryl (Ron) Cole and Linda (Larry) Taylor, both of Centralia, Ill. and Leta Burch of Decatur; son Pat (Cheryl) Boyll of Centralia; brother Lloyd (Stella) Boyll of Abilene, Texas; and sister Ann (Ron) Morgan of Cathedral City, Calif.; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were held Nov. 8, 2008, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, Ill. with Irvin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Centralia Cultural Society or to the charity of your choice.
