JAMES L. ASKIN, 77,

a Green Valley resident for 14 years, and formerly of Colorado, passed away on Nov. 1, 2008. He was very active in the Elks Lodge in Green Valley.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara. He is survived by his children Ramona (John) DeFreece of Morrison, Colo., Michael (Cynthia) Askin of San Rafael, Calif. and Cheryll Blackmore of Arvada, Colo.; as well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is brother Peter (Gloria) Askin of Haymarket, Va.

There will be a rosary at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at Green Valley Mortuary. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A reception will be held at the Elks Lodge immediately following the Mass.
