NewsA Sahuarita Heights woman was arrested Thursday for reportedly helping her husband — a fugitive convicted of manslaughter — hide from the police. Rosalita Coronado Alday, 47, was arrested Thursday at her home in the 3600 block of East Dawson Road and charged with Hindering Prosecution, a class three felony in Arizona, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Officer Quentin Mehr. Her husband, Jesus Manuel Moran, 41, was arrested on Oct. 17 and charged with manslaughter in the death of 7-month-old Elijah Archuleta, who was killed in 2002 as a result of a three-car-collision in Tucson. Moran has been in hiding since 2002, possibly living in Mexico. Detectives don’t know how long Moran had been staying with Alday in Sahuarita, said Mehr. On Oct. 14, detectives from the AZDPS GIITEM (Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission) unit, received a tip that Moran was living at his old house in Sahuarita Heights. After they verified that information, police moved with a SWAT team, which was used because Moran had previously been convicted of a 1992 homicide in South Tucson, a crime for which he served seven years in state prison. A court date for Moran is set for Dec. 8 with Pima County Superior Court Judge Edgar Acuna.
