Truth is painful

Editor:

With the coming election I find so many dishonest statements flying around. This letter may be painful, but I feel the truth is always painful.

Let’s start with Obama and his educational background. Columbia and magna cum laude from Harvard . Wrote two books, being the sole author.

McCain graduated fifth from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy.

He wrote one book with a co-author (ie he talked the other did the writing). He admits to not even knowing how to turn a computer on.

On the subject of experience, Obama was a state senator for eight years and a US senator for four years. He sponsored 152 bills and co-sponsored over 450.

And, oh, I should mention he was a professor of constitutional law for 12 years (that comes in handy after the Bush people have dished the constitution so many times).

McCain’s experience consists of being a POW for 5 years and a Congressman for 26 years and accomplished little or nothing.

When we think of health and health and health insurance it gets better.

He’s a “stud muffin.” Wants health insurance for all. Believes a women has a right to her reproductive body and health safety, not the government.

McCain is 72 years old (that’s OK but I know how I feel at 72 years old). Battled cancer four times.

His health care plan is goofy, but what does he know about health insurance? He has been covered by the US government service since birth.

He’s anti-abortion, except if his daughter became pregnant, she would have the right of choice.

The economy is a big issue this election.

Obama believes in putting money in the hands of the working people ( People earning $250,000 or less) to rebuild and stimulate the economy.

McCain still thinks the American economy is fundamentally sound, and deregulation is the answer to any problems we are having. Who is the more honorable man?

Much has been said about Obama’s relationship with William Ayers, which pales in comparison with McCain’s relationship to Charles Keating. Ayers has not gone to prison and is a respected professor. Keating went to prison and lives in disgrace. And speaking of honor.

How honorable is a man that is sleeping around while still married, like McCain did?

On foreign affairs, Obama prefers diplomacy. McCain says he’s a fighter. Looks like he sees the military as the only way to deal with countries that might cross his path.

He refers to the Iraq-Pakistani border as being unsafe.
