Campaign reform

Published: Saturday, November 1, 2008 8:15 PM MST

Editor:

Why does the United States have such an outdated presidential campaign schedule?

Most countries have set a much shorter time for candidates to present their agendas.

Many Americans, at the present time, are weary of the drawn-out months of campaigning allowed our presidential candidates.

Not only that, this year some of us are concerned about the health of our present candidates.

How can any person maintain such a vigorous and lengthy campaign schedule and have a sound mind, body and spirit left to govern and make wise decisions for our Nation when they get to Washington, D.C.?

Are any of them super-human?

Much less money would be spent on perhaps a three- or six-month campaign limit and that could eliminate much of the influence that monetary contributions make today.

I challenge America to become more humane and modern in our presidential campaign schedule..
