ObituariesBETTY JEAN EGNOR, a 15-year resident of Tubac,
died peacefully Oct. 21, 2008, under Hospice care at Prestige Assisted Living in Green Valley. She was born on March 4, 1936, in Logan, W.V., and was the only child of Ed and Greeba Gartin. She spent most of her early years in Huntington, W.Va., and graduated from Vinson High School. She later attended business school and was employed for a leading corporation in Huntington. She married Jack Egnor of Huntington on Oct. 8, 1960, and left on Oct. 9, 1960, to accompany him on his first assignment as a Special Agent of the FBI to Phoenix. They were subsequently assigned to Tucson, Kansas City, Mo., and Washington, D.C., where they resided in Maryland and Virginia. They were later assigned to Columbia, S.C., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colo., where they resided for 15 years before retiring in 1993 and moving to Tubac. She attended numerous local and national conventions of the former Special Agents of the FBI and the FBI National Academy Associates. She was a terrific dancer and particularly loved Dixieland Jazz. She was an accomplished horsewoman and kept her horse, Liza Jane, on her Tubac property. She and Jack are the proud parents of Shelley Koscheka of Grand Rapids, Mich., David Egnor of Washington, D.C., and Jeff Egnor of Castle Rock, Colo. They have three beautiful granddaughters Jennifer, Laura, and Kaitlin. Betty Jean was loved by all who knew her and especially by her devoted family.
