Green Valley Wood Carvers will meet at 8:30 a.m.. at Friends In Deed, 301 W. Camino Casa Verde. Any wood carvers interested in an active carving club, or any person wishing to learn how to carve welcome. Information: Don Moberg, 777-7182.

Green Valley Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at St. Frances-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 S. Take Off Pounds Sensibly meets every Tuesday at La Posada recreation. Meetings are open to the public. Weigh in 7 a.m., regular meeting, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Sonora Desert Scribes will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the La Posada Recreation Building. Elsie Schalock will talk about her experience at Ghost Ranch this year, and Paula Bowman will teach how to create whimsical crayon rubbings. Attendees should bring several sheets of typing paper, scissors, a couple of gel pens or felt tip markers, and crayons if they have them. Information: Elsie Schalock at 393-6585.

Villas West in the Park will have a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Paseo Penasco and Paseo Tierra. Come stroll the park and meet the crafters who will be presenting handmade items. Children’s books, paintings, baked goods, much more.

Rose Society of Green Valley presents its annual show, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the East Center. Open to the public. Roses, raffle boutique, refreshments and entertainment.

Santa Cruz Valley Chapter of the Society of Southwestern Authors meets at 1 p.m. at the Joyner-Green Valley Library. Corky Simpson, award-winning sports writer and and Green Valley News columnist, will speak.

Rose Society of Green Valley meets at 6:30 p.m at the East Center. Walt and Diane Kilmer of the San Diego Rose Society will speak on the roses of New Zealand with pictures of rare 16th century roses. Information: Karen Packer, 777-5624.
