Campaign promises

Published: Thursday, October 23, 2008 8:42 PM MST

Editor:

Obama is more honest than Clinton was.

Obama just said if elected he would work with Congress to get his promises enacted.

Clinton said he would give every family a tax cut or money for college.

When he got into office, Congress explained to him that they they run the country, and he could sign their laws, or be overridden by their majority in both houses of Congress.

The only way he was able to fulfill his campaign promises, was when a Republican Congress was elected two years later, and they brought all his campaign promises to a vote on the floor of Congress.

Two years after that, he was able to keep his campaign promises and signed the Contract with America.
