Coldwell Banker joins 10-day sales event Hoping to jump-start the local real estate market, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Green Valley announced it will help bring together homebuyers and sellers from across the region by joining a bold national Coldwell Banker “10 Day Sales Event.” This “first ever” event will run locally and nationally from today, Oct. 10, through Oct. 19. More than 40 listed homes in Green Valley and Tubac will drop their prices by a minimum of 10 percent during the event. Open houses will be held today, and Oct. 12, 15 and 17. The open house schedule will be featured in the Green Valley News. Home sellers will have the opportunity to continue the reduced listing price after the 10-Day Sales Event. The number of “problem institutions” is multiplying in recent quarters, but still represent only 5 percent of the industry according to BauerFinancial. The middle ground represents 28 percent with another 4 percent of the banks that are too new to have a rating. “There are plenty of strong Banks all over the country”, says Karen Downey, president of the research firm. “The key is to do your homework … which is easier than you might think.” Downey said. Attorney Schmerl expands GV office Attorney Peter Schmerl has announced the expansion of his Green Valley office. The office expansion in the Green Valley Professional Building (next to the Santa Rita Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) at 170 North La Canada, Suite 20, was in direct response to the firm’s growing business. “Our move was necessary to accommodate the growth we are experiencing,” states Peter. “Our expanded location will increase our visibility with our clients and the community.
