NewsArizona gasoline prices continued to decline this week, with Tucson and Pima County prices still among the lowest. AAA Arizona, the automobile club, said that Tucson offered the lowest average price in the state—$3.432 a gallon, down three cents a gallon from last week. Pima County’s average for a gallon of regular was $3.455, down 2.3 cents from the previous week. Statewide, the average low was $3.562 compared to the national average figures of $3.668, a one cent drop in a week. The lowest average in the country was in New Jersey, $3.421 for a gallon of unleaded. Montana drivers paid the most, $3.889. Higher prices may be ahead, AAA Arizona’s latest newsletter hinted. OPEC, the worldwide oil producing cooperative, said it will reduce the daily output by 500,000 barrels per day to combat a lackluster demand. jlamb@gvnews.com | 547-9749
