DAISY AMANDA “MANDY” CHRISTIAN

Mandy Christian, 92, of Sartell, Minn., and formerly of Mount Carroll, Ill., Grand Marais, Minn., Green Valley and Belen, N.M., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 in St. Cloud, Minn.

Mandy was born May 10, 1916, in Lanark, Ill. to William and Estella Hannah Wilson. She was the tenth generation of her family in America (Bailey Genealogy). She was a former restaurant owner and golf course manager. Mandy wintered in Puerto Rico for 10 years and summered in Grand Marais for over 40 years. She was a world traveler and enjoyed cooking, tennis, golf and playing bridge. Mandy was a sports fan and advocate. Her favorite teams were the Cubs, Arizona Wildcats and the 49ers.

Mandy loved without reservation and her smile would light up a room.

Survivors include her sons and daughter: Eric (Christiane) Christian, Paul Christian and Sara (Nate) Tucker; daughter-in-law Cindy Christian; four grandchildren: Laura and Jenny Charles, Beth Lindler, and Jens Christian; two great-grandchildren: Travis and Aaron Ritenour; longtime companion Lee Reinig and his children Martha (Ray) Roth, Mark (Becky) Reinig and Michael (Felice) Reinig.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ted; three sisters Mabel, Geneva, and Adeline; first husband Herbert Owen Christian; and son-in-law Friar Tucker.

Memorials are preferred to your favorite veterans’ charity.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
