An SUV overturned on Interstate 19, Thursday, sending its Phoenix driver to the hospital with serious injuries, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson said Friday.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. on northbound I-19, just south of the Continental Road exit, said Officer Quentin Mehr.

Phaedra Antioco, 31, the only person in the vehicle, was driving her gray Toyota 4runner when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle lost control and crashed into the median, rolling once and coming to rest on its side. The Department of Public Safety is still investigating the cause of the accident, Mehr said.

Antioco was taken to University Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

Also on scene were the Green Valley Fire District and the U.S. Border Patrol.
