‘Eye-opening’ experience for Lions Club members

Published: Saturday, August 9, 2008 9:21 PM MST

Moe Sinsley, left, and Bill Barlow of the Tombstone Lions Club play a round of “visually-impaired miniature golf” Friday at Triple Play in Sahuarita. Above, Phil Hayes of the La Canoa Lions Club, Andy Anderson of the Green Valley Lions Club and Sally Manley of the Benson Lions Club join in the fun. The players were in Green Valley attending an annual district meeting that brought 125 Lions Club International members from throughout Arizona to the area. About 20 Lions donned special glasses that simulated macular degeneration, cataracts, near total blindness and retinal pigmentosis to raise awareness of these visual impairments. “This has been an eye-opening experience,” said Barlow. “If all you’ve got is a pinhole to see the world through, it certainly changes your perspective.”

" Good work, Pima County.

In many areas of the country Mr. Woods would be free to select other desired items. The resident's initial call would have been ignored since the suspicious person did not seemingly gain entrance was no longer present. "
