Green Valley Forum meets at 10 a.m. at East Center. Bill Lafferty, colonel retired, USAF, will speak on “The Berlin Airlift.” All GVR members and their eligible guests welcome.

Body Wisdom, a beginners’ Hatha Yoga class taught by Sharon Rose, starts at 4 p.m. at Casa Community Center near La Posada. It runs for three other Wednesdays. Fee is $10 per class, payable at the time of the first class. Register by calling Ellen March, 625-2273, ext. 40.

Aug. 7

Valle Verde Rotary Club meets at 7 a.m. at Green Valley Community Church. Randy Graf will give a presentation on the concept of a Green Valley separation from Pima County. Information: Lynne Skelton, 625-8286.

J.A. Jance, noted Tucson author of books featuring Cochise County Sheriff Joanna Brady, will speak at 2 p.m. at the Joyner-

Aero Club of Arizona meets at Friends in Deed, 301 Camino Casa Verde. Coffee, donuts at 9:30 a.m., meeting at 10. Col. William Lafferty, USAF ret., will talk about troop carrier operations and air refueling. He won his wings in 1944 and was one of the first pilots to fly into Berlin during the Airlift. He also was one of the few to fly the B-36. Visitors welcome at this meeting. Information: 393-6577.

Aug. 10

Scottsdale author Jim Burns will lead a free bird walk at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park, then autograph copies of his book, “Jim Burns’ Arizona Birds: From the Backyard to the Backwoods.” Tour begins at 6:30 a.m. The park is on U.S. Highway 60 three miles west of Superior. Green Valley Chamber Music Society will present a free concert at 10 a.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 La Canada Drive. Pianist Bob Murray, soprano Helen Hanselmann, pianist Sharlyn Mathews, ‘cellist Helene Benedikte, pianist Ann-Marie Schaffer, and pianist Ester Siebold. The public is invited to enjoy this concert.
