NewsLady Just look at this sweet, beckoning face! There’s no denying that Lady has some hound and pointer in her (or the possibility that she’s had a litter of puppies in the past). Lady was found on a dirt road near Sahuarita and Wilmot roads by a really great lady who already had 16 other rescued animals (whoa!) and simply couldn’t keep her for more than a week. But fortune smiled on Lady when TALGV said that they could take her in, so here she is, oh-so-ready to live with a family where she’ll have lots of love and security. Lady is a white and golden tan, 71-pound, approximately 2-year-old spayed lady who, according to her rescuer is a really “good girl.” (Lady was only with her for a week, so there are probably lots more nice things she would have said had Lady been there longer!) She hasn’t had much in the way of training, but she is so eager to make someone a wonderful, devoted companion that she promises it will take no time at all for her to learn all those important “doggie” things. So if you’re willing to take a chance on Lady, she will reward you with many years of her loving ways - that’s a promise! Tawny Tawny’s rescuers had two things to say about her: “big feet, very sweet!” Well, actually, they had lots of other things to say, but that pretty much sums her up. Tawny is a 4-month-old, 20-pound, possibly purebred German shepherd girl who was found wandering in the desert (sadly that happens a lot around here). The family who took her in had two other dogs, a cat, and two kids and they all got along swimmingly. Tawny has beautiful, classic, black and tan shepherd coloring and although she hasn’t had any obedience training yet, you know that at her age it won’t take any time at all for her to learn all the “ropes.” Tawny is so eager to please and go to a home where she will be safe and loved that she’ll bend over backwards to make sure you know you made the right decision when you picked her! Winston When the lady who brought Winston to TALGV was asked about any “problem behavior” he might have, all she could think of with was “gets on furniture!” Well…if that’s a problem for you, then it wouldn’t work out for you and Winston! On the other hand, if you like a cat that is quiet and laid back but still likes to be near you, then you and Winston should talk. His human mom died recently and the lady who “cat sat” for him was unable to keep him, so here he is. Winston is a handsome, lovable, young (1-2 years old), neutered, tabby and white guy. He’s a bit reserved right now since so many changes have happened very suddenly in his life, but everyone can tell just by looking into his eyes that he’ll be a real lover once he’s relaxed and in a new, quiet home of his own. Although he’s been allowed outdoors, that is all in his past. All the TALGV people say that indoors is the only way to go, so please keep that in mind if you choose Winston or any of our cats! Hobbs Hobbs’ mama died recently and a friend of hers was taking care of him for a while. He thought Hobbs was a great cat, but much as he liked Hobbs, he felt that he just wasn’t a “cat person” (he had two dogs and thought that was enough!).He brought Hobbs to TALGV so that he can find a new mom (or family) to dote on him. He’s a gentle, tolerant, declawed, 8-year-old, orange tabby gentleman. They say that all he needs is food, water, and a clean litter box to be happy. He is on a bit of a diet, and that is what he’s used to. (He gets 1/3 of a cup of dry, weight control food twice a day as he leans to the “chubby” side if left to free feed!) Although Hobbs is “low maintenance,” he still loves to have time to enjoy you - in bed at night if you don’t mind or just “hanging out” during the day. Hobbs is ready to go home with you, if you are ready for him.
