Beth Shalom Temple Center presents 'A Sacred Duty'

Beth Shalom Temple Center, will present “A Sacred Duty,” a film that asks what the Jewish scriptures say about current issues such as global warming, health, environmental concerns, and cultural attitudes toward food, Sunday, Aug. 10, at 2:30 p.m. at the temple center, 1751 N. Rio Mayo, Green Valley.

A panel discussion will follow, and audience participation will be encouraged.

There will be panelists representing different faith traditions, and there is no charge to attend.

The event is open to the public, however, attendees are asked to call: Gail Norton, 207-8119, or Susan Cohen, 399-1503, so that ample preparations can be made. RSVPs should be made no later than Friday, Aug. 8.

Free copies of the film will be given to the first 28 people arriving. In addition, there will be hand-out materials including a suggested reading list, brochures, pamphlets, as well as magazines and books to browse through.

The Boutique will provide free raffle tickets for some eco-friendly prizes.
