Aero Club of Arizona meets at Friends in Deed, 301 Camino Casa Verde. Coffee, donuts at 9:30 a.m., meeting at 10. Col. William Lafferty, USAF ret., will talk about troop carrier operations and air refueling. He won his wings in 1944 and was one of the first pilots to fly into Berlin during the Airlift. He also was one of the few to fly the B-36. Visitors welcome at this meeting. Information: 393-6577.

Green Valley fisherman Dick Converse was named a Master Angler for catching this 29-inch walleye at Delaney Lake in Ontario, Canada earlier this summer. The Delany Lake Lodge has a program to recognize those guests who demonstrate expertise in fishing by catching and releasing what they consider a “trophy” fish in a particular category and walleye is a minimum of 28 inches. On that same trip, Converse had a lake trout that missed Master Angler by only 3/4 inch and a northern pike that missed by only 1-1/2 inches.
