It began with an idea of how to make a self-storage facility better fit the needs of the customers here in Southern Arizona.

Co-owners Bob Childs, Drew Monson, and Chris Monson knew that advanced security features like keypad entry, and interior and exterior security cameras were a must, but they also thought about the way their customers would use this state-of-the-art facility.

“We looked at the little things like climate control (air conditioning or evaporative cooling) in every building; motion activated lighting in every storage bay; locker storage for documents, records, samples and file boxes.” Bob Childs said.

But, as Chris Monson said, “We included some innovative features as well, like a chilled wine storage room and a separate wine-tasting parlor.”

In addition, the facility offers several full-sized garage bays that are perfect for storing, and working on, classic cars.

Because this area has a large population of RVers, the 8.5-acre Arizona Self Storage facility will offer three RV storage options — indoor, covered, or uncovered storage. And, rather than lug everything back home, RVers can empty their units into a climate-controlled storage areas accessible to drive up from the outside, or with inside access.

When complete, the Arizona Self Storage facility will fill the 8.5-acre campus with over 600 storage bays, room for 260 RVs (92 enclosed).

The new storage facility will offer storage unit sizes from 5 feet by 4 feet to 12.5 feet by 24 feet and RV storage at 12.5 feet by 45 feet.

Arizona Self Storage is located at 18240 S. La Canada Dr. in Sahuarita, and is taking space reservations at 327-7777.
