Justice Court

Case activity in the Pima County Justice Court, Precinct 7, for the week ending 07.24.08:

Traffic/Civil Complaints:

A charge of no registration in possession against Luis Ku, 52, of Rio Rico, was dismissed on a factual basis.

A charge of cracked windshield against Robert Kumst, 43, of Corona de Tucson, was dismissed on a factual basis.

Charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia against Roger Premus, 49, of Amado, were dismissed on a factual basis.

A charge of failing to produce evidence of financial responsibility against Jose Redondo, 49, of Amado, was dismissed on a factual basis.


The case of the State of Arizona v. Valerie Bonitez was dismissed without prejudice due to lack of sufficient evidence on July 9, 2008.

The case of the State of Arizona v. Jordon Weatherford was dismissed due to prosecutorial discretion on June 17, 2008.

Williams Hills, 33, of Sahuarita, pleaded responsible for no registration and was fined $721.

Philip Torres Jr., 20, of Green Valley, pleaded responsible for no valid operator’s license, no mandatory insurance and expired plates and was fined $143, $930 and $582 respectively.

Ray Hernandez, 42, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $135.

Katie Espino, 19, of Sahuarita, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $202.

Peggy Thomas, 65, of Green Valley, pleaded responsible for a stop sign violation and was fined $150.

Michael Patton, 20, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for failing to stop for a stop sign and was fined $164.

Daniel Silva, 35, of Nogales, pleaded responsible for open container in passenger compartment and was fined $232.

Tina McCarthy, 38, of Green Valley, pleaded responsible for Domestic Violence/Assault and DV/Disorderly Conduct and was fined $500 on each violation.

Roger Premus, 49, of Amado, pleaded responsible for driving while under the influence of liquor, drugs, vapor-releasing substances, or any combination and was fined $3385.

Gustavo Quiroz, 32, of Amado, pleaded responsible for revoked license and was fined $562.

Rick Palumbo, 34, of Green Valley, pleaded responsible for expired out of state registration and failing to obtain an Arizona driver’s license and was fined $125 and $143.

Michael Thomas, 19, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for no valid license in possession and was fined $100.

Francisco Ortega, 43, of Rio Rico, pleaded responsible for no valid license and was fined $114.

Ted Teso, 47, of Sahuarita, pleaded responsible for no driver’s license in possession and was fined $133.

Lucas Macias, 20, of Nogales, was found responsible by default for failing to control speed to avoid a collision and was fined $142. His license has been suspended.

Sandra Chatom-Patopea, 62, of Green Valley, was found responsible by default for failing to control speed to prevent an accident and was fined $157. Her license has been suspended.

Keith Garcia, 24, of Downey, Calif., was found responsible for speeding and was fined $175. His license has been suspended.

Jorge Miranda Almada, 40, of Los Mochis, Sinola, Mexico, was found responsible by default for no insurance and was fined $930. His license has been suspended.

Miguel Amaral, 37, of Imperial Beach, Calif., was found responsible for speeding, no license plate light and failing to produce evidence of financial responsibility and was fined $135, $146 and $930 respectively. His license has been suspended.

Jaime Cordero, 46, of Pax, was found responsible by default for no license and no proof of financial responsibility and was fined $134 and $946 respectively. His license has been suspended.

Ramiro Murrieta, 50, of Sahuarita, was found responsible by default for failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility and was fined $946. His license has been suspended.

Warrants:

George Wilson Jr., 37, of Tucson, failed to appear and was found responsible by civil traffic default for displaying suspended plates and was fined $470. A warrant has been ordered.

Jimmy Gonzales, 51, of Tucson, failed to appear on several animal control violations. A warrant has been ordered.

Ida Higuera, 44, of Phoenix, failed to appear on a charge of driving on a suspended license. A warrant has been ordered.

Melissa Sharpe, 35, of Tucson, failed to appear on a charge of false reporting. A warrant has been ordered.

Alvaro Gen-Villa, 56, of Long Beach, Calif., failed to appear on a charge of false log book and log book not current and no registration. A warrant has been ordered.

Jorge Leyva, 25, of Nogales, failed to appear. An FTA (Failure to Appear) complaint and warrant has been ordered for contempt of court.

Kenneth Perez, 27, of Tucson, failed to appear. An FTA warrant and complaint have been ordered for contempt of court.
