The body of an illegal immigrant man was discovered by Border Patrol agents Sunday in the desert just south of Green Valley.

Agents found the badly decomposing body under a tree, next to a bottle of water, in a desert area southwest of Calle Tres and Montana Vista, Pima County Sheriff’s reports said.

The man appeared to have died from exposure, reports said.

From October through the end of June, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents have recovered the bodies of 109 illegal border crossers, said spokesperson Rob Daniels.

That compares with 127 for the same time period last year.

The Tucson Sector, said Daniels, is comprised of every county in Arizona except Yuma, La Paz and Mojave, the three counties that border the Colorado River.
