Green Valley News Jim Halsted, master director of Christian Outreach, has accepted a position with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod World Missions department as an area facilitator for Central America and the Caribbean. He has been parish evangelist at Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior, Green Valley, for five years and will complete duties there Monday. He will be responsible for missionary development, support and skill training, and he will be responsible for Deaconess training schools in the area. His wife, Marianne, will help with volunteer mission trips and assist Halsted in his ministry. Eventually, she will serve as short term volunteer mission coordinator for those who come from the U.S on short-term missions. She will be responsible for setting up logistics like housing, food, medical, and other programs. The Halsteds will be installed and commissioned for their respective posts and duties during Risen Savior’s Divine Service at 9 a.m. Sunday. rford@gvnews.com | 547-9740
