Republican Legislative District 30 meets a the Miller-Golf Links Library, 9640 E. Golf Links Road, Tucson. Speakers will be candidates Doug Sposito, running for state representative, and Brad Roach, running for Pima County attorney. June 24

Rotary Club of Green Valley meets at 11:45 a.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 La Canada Drive. Mark Gugan will give a recap of the year; new board will be installed. Greeter, John Guion; invocator, Fred Landenberger; hosts Dave Sirota, Mike Shay, Becky Roberts.

Mah Jongg players get together at 12:30 p.m. at Beth Shalom Temple Center, 1751 N. Rio Mayo. All levels welcome. Information: 393-0603.

Green Valley Forum meets at 10 a.m. at East Center. Hal Mansfield will discuss “The Struggle for Optimism.” All GVR members and their eligible guests welcome.

Valle Verde Rotary Club meets at 7 a.m. at Green Valley Community Church. CART member Dennis Skelton will give an RTA update. Information: Lynne Skelton, 625-8286.

Valley Quilters Guild meets at 1 p.m. at American Legion Hall, 1560 W. Duval Mine Road, Sahuarita. All level quilters welcome. Come at noon and join the group for a brown bag lunch. Program will be on the History of American Quilts. Information: Janie Schott, 625-7944.

June 28

Gay/Straight-Getting Acquainted information meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. Amanda Simpson, whose background includes 23 years in the Aerospace Industry, chief engineer for Raytheon, 6 years as a small business owner, airline transport pilot, appointed commissioner for the city of Tucson, state legislator, mother and transgendered woman, will speak.
