Angels embraced MARY ELIZABETH PAYNE

as she journeyed into Heaven on June 8, 2008.
Mary was the only child of Mary L. and Fred E. Plaskett. She was born and raised in Detroit, Mich., where she graduated from Redford H.S. and attended Marygrove College.
In 1950, she married her lifelong love William G. Payne. Mary and Bill lived in Detroit, Wilmington, Del., Estes Park, Colo. and lastly in Green Valley until her passing.
Mary had many hobbies, but golf was her favorite. She enjoyed playing at the Country Club of Green Valley for many years.
Mary was an accomplished oil and watercolor artist who displayed her works in Estes Park galleries during the 1990s.
Her husband William G. Payne, daughter Debra Lee (Donald) Gudzune of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and her beloved grandchildren Gregory Payne Gudzune of Colorado and Kimberly Anne Gudzune, M.D. of Baltimore, Md. survive Mary.
A celebration of Mary Payne’s life will be held at the Green Valley Elks Club on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the Alzheimer’s Association.
