JIM FARLEE, a very kind and gentle man, left us on May 31, 2008.

Jim was born May 7, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. He immediately left for Fort Knox, Ky., for OCS and completed tank commander training at Camp Hood, Texas (now known as Fort Hood). He served as a tank commander in WWII in Central Europe, in the Battle of the Bulge, and with the occupation forces in Germany.

Before leaving for overseas he married Joan Parsell. They were married for 64 years.

After his discharge, he was employed at Mutual of Omaha and retired after 37 years as the Vice President of Advertising.

He is survived by his wife Joan; sons Jim Jr. (Cathy) and Jay; grandchildren Brian Farlee, Ginger (Kevin) Unwin, and Jason (Amy) Farlee; great-grandchildren Kaeden, Ivy and Elliot Unwin. He was preceded in death by great-grandson Colin Unwin.

Jim’s greatest joy in life was his family.
