Agents find $2 million worth of pot

Agents patrolling the Green Valley area early Saturday morning discovered more than 100 bundles of marijuana inside a stolen vehicle, a spokesperson for the U.S. Border Patrol said.
Around 4 a.m. Saturday, the driver and passenger of a Ford F-150 being pursued by agents stopped on a dirt road north of Arivaca Road and bailed from the vehicle.
Agents discovered 104 bundles of marijuana packed inside the bed of the truck totalling 2,500 pounds and worth an estimated $2 million, spokesperson Mike Scioli said.
The Border Patrol was unable to apprehend to the two men, who had fled the scene, he said.
The truck was determined to be stolen out of Goodyear, a west Phoenix suburb.
The narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement agency, Scioli said.
In other Border Patrol news, agents rescued a border crosser Friday afternoon after he was discovered injured in a canyon near Rio Rico.
The 28-year-old was airlifted to Carondolet-St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson where he was treated for a broken leg.
Because of the remoteness of the area — Ramanote Canyon, about six miles west of the Interstate — agents had to carry the man for two miles before they could reach an accessible service road, Scioli said.
