June 5

Better Breathers Support Group meets at 11 a.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 La Canada Drive. Any one with breathing problems is welcome. Information: Ed Gustafson, 648-7517.

Green Valley Chapter of the Eastern Star meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge. It will be the last stated meeting until September. Information: Jackie DeHart, 207-0957.

June 6

Know your Backyard, Green Valley will focus on Tubac at 3 p.m. at Casa de Esperanza's community center near La Posada. Writer and historian Nacy Valentine, a second generation Tubaquena and daughter of early Tubac artists, will speak. Seating is limited. Reserve by calling Sue, 625-2273, ext. 40.

Widowed to Widowed support group meets at 10 a.m. at the GV Community Church, corner of Esperanza Boulevard and La Canada Drive. Lunch following at Manuel’s. There is life after widowhood. Information: Toni, 399-0289, or Rosemary, 625-1449.


Green Valley members of the Air Force Association meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 2951 S. Camino Mercado. All AFA members and their guests welcome. Information: 393-6577.

June 9

Green Valley Chamber Music Society meets at 10 a.m. at the parish hall of St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 600 La Canada Drive. There will be a free concert open to the public. Members will present chamber music by Max Bruch, Bela Bartok, Mikhail Glinka, Maurice Ravell and David Hochstein. Program will feature a medley of Broadway show tunes on concertina. Performing will be Bob Sladky, clarinet; Marion Wolfe, viola; Ann-Marie Schaffer, piano; Bob Murray, piano, Judy Pottle, cello; Sharlyn Mathews, piano; Cal Turner, clarinet; Anneke Matson, piano; Marjory Tyndall, concertina; Mary Jane Clabots, piano. June 11

Democratic Club Santa Rita Area is sponsoring a political book discussion led by Kathy Killeen, at 1 p.m. at the party headquarters in the Green Valley Mall.
