ALEXANDER PETER CAPITAN,

born in St. Joseph, Mich. on July 29, 1920, to Peter and Pagona (Lamprakis) Capitan, went to be with our Lord May 29, 2008.

Alex married Doris Allee Oct. 6, 1942. He owned and operated a restaurant with his brother in Owosso, Mich. for 30 years. He sold his interest to his brother and started a career in real estate.

He and Doris moved to Green Valley in 1984, and he became active in the Green Valley Elks’ Lodge. He held positions as a House Committee chairman and was a five year trustee. He was the Lodge photographer for many years and was a greeter at the front desk for 23 years until his health forced him to quit. He was also active at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church as official photographer and served on the Finance Committee for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years; his son William; daughter-in-law Nita; and two brothers.

There will be a memorial service at Our Lady of the Valley on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at 10 a.m.
