passed away peacefully on May 25, 2008, at LaPosada in Green Valley. Don was born in Omaha, Neb. on Oct. 30, 1915, to Frank A. and Byrd S. Pardun. His two sisters (Dorothy and Rosemary) preceded him in death. Don was trained in the laundry business and joined his father who operated two laundries in the Omaha area as well as one in Nebraska City, Neb. He married an Omaha native, Miss Kathryn Emma Davis on Sept. 1, 1938, and the couple moved to Nebraska City. Their son, Frank was born there in 1940. At the outbreak of WWII, the couple moved back to Omaha and Don was employed by the Martin Bomber plant manufacturing the B-29 bomber. The couple’s daughter Ann was born in 1942, and Don was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1944. He was a crew chief on a P-51 Mustang fighter stationed in France and Germany. He returned from Europe in 1946, and worked in the hardware, lumber and paint businesses in Lincoln and Scottsbluff, Neb. In 1957, Don purchased a small office supply business in Fort Morgan, Colo. and this company flourished for the next 35 years until he sold the business in 1992. Pardun’s Office Supply won many national awards from the Olivetti-Underwood Corp. for outstanding sales and servicing of their equipment. The company covered eight counties in Northeastern Colorado. In 1992, he and Kay moved to Green Valley to enjoy a well earned retirement. Don was an elder in the Fort Morgan Presbyterian Church, a life member of the Elks, an Optimist, and a member of the Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed golfing and swimming and being with family. He is survived by Kay, his wife of 69 years; and his two children Ann (Stockdale) of Green Valley and Frank of Vail. Also surviving grandchildren Brad Yearous (Suzhou, China), Amy Fuller (Parker, Colo.), Jeff Pardun (Fresno, Calif.), Cari Ann Anthony (Cleveland, Ohio), Nichole Hickerson (Sahuarita) and Greg Stockdale (Fresno); as well as 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 4, 2008, at the Valley Presbyterian Church. Remembrances may be made to The Animal League of Green Valley.
