NewsA Green Valley woman was killed Saturday night when a firetruck collided with her vehicle, a Pima County Sheriff’s spokesperson said. Marjorie Kroska, 60, was driving westbound on East Los Reales Road in Tucson when a fire tender heading south on Swan Road ran a stop sign and struck her Toyota Avalon, said Sheriff’s spokesperson Deputy Dawn Hanke. Kroska, the only person in the vehicle, was taken to University Medical Center where she died of her injuries a few hours later, Hanke said. The driver of the Rural/Metro tender, which was responding to a car fire just before 7 p.m., suffered minor injuries and has since been put on paid administrative leave pending an investigation of the accident, she said. The vehicle, used for carrying water, had its lights and sirens on. Kroska was a longtime Green Valley resident along with her husband of 35 years, Albert. A former employee of Long Realty, she worked in local property management for over 20 years. jrichardson@gvnews.com | 547-9726
