COLONEL RUDOLPH F. CERNICK, 90,

a 30 year resident of Green Valley and formerly of Palos Heights, Ill., died May 11, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty J. Cernick and a son Randolph Cernick.

He is survived by son Michael Cernick; daughter Ruth (Ron) Winkler; brother George (Jennie) Cernick; as well as grandchildren Meghan (Mike) Thimjon, Aimee (Joe) Estes, Cara (Rob) Zimmerman, Brad Cernick, Aaron (Carrie) Winkler, Christopher (Lisa) Winker, Kyle Winkler and Derek Winkler. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Emily Thimjon, Tyler Thimjon, Nathan Thimjon, Madeline Zimmerman, Owen Estes and Lindy Winkler.
