Robbers threaten Sahuarita woman

A Sahuarita woman was the victim of a home invasion robbery last week when three armed men broke into her trailer, a spokesperson for the Sahuarita Police Department said.

At about 9 a.m. Thursday, the men entered the trailer, located in the Los Arboles Mobile Home Park in the 17200 block of South La Villita Road, and demanded that the woman hand over money and a safe, said Officer Sam Almodova, the department’s public information officer.

All three suspects were wielding handguns, Almodova said. They were gone before police arrived, and the woman, who was alone in the trailer, was not injured, he said.

Nothing was taken and a motive for the robbery has not been established, though it appears not to be drug related.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males and one black male wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandanas. The black male was wearing a black shirt, jean shorts and black shoes. There is no description of the vehicle at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME or the Sahuarita Police Department at 648-7746.
