Obituariesdied Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Carondelet Hospice after suffering a stroke. Judson was born in Richmond, Va. on June 11, 1917, to Judson and Florence Deaner Sr. On Oct. 2, 1946, he married his wife Lucille Tatum Deaner, who died Jan. 10, 2004, after celebrating over 57 years together. Judson was a member of the District of Columbia Fire Department for 22 years, received the DCFD Medal for Valor in 1967, and retired in 1968. Upon his retirement from the DCFD, Judson and Lucille moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. for five years and finally settled in Green Valley in 1973. Judson is survived by his two children Judson Deaner and Carolyn Watson. His son lives in Heidelberg, Germany with his wife Deborah and daughter Ariel. Carolyn lives in Tucson with her husband Richard and son David. Carolyn and Richard’s daughter, Heather Kirkland and her husband Jonathan, live in Hinesville, Ga. Judson came from a family of seven children and is also survived by his brother Paul Deaner from Virginia and sister Virginia Glover from Florida. Judson was devoted to his family and church fellowship. He was first ordained a deacon in 1952, and was an active member of the church choir. Judson was much loved by his family and will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Green Valley Baptist Church with reception and lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Red Cross.
