NewsCase activity in the Pima County Justice Court, Precinct 7, for the week ending 05.09.08: Traffic/Civil Complaints: A charge of speeding/failing to control vehicle to avoid collision against Ramon Moreno Jr., 31, of Sahuarita, was dismissed on a factual basis. A charge of domestic violence/assault against Albert Tafolla, 44, of Amado, was dismissed on a factual basis. The case of the State of Arizona v. Antonio Leija, age unknown, of Fresno, Calif., was dismissed without prejudice due to prosecutorial discretion on April 29, 2008. Maria Reyes, age unknown, of Tucson, pleaded guilty for DUI and was fined a total of $4422.18. She was also ordered to attend a MADD victim impact panel and complete alcohol/drug evaluation, education and treatment by Aug. 29, 2008. She was placed on supervised probation for 20 months and ordered to pay probation fees of $40 per month, as well as be committed to Pima County Jail for 90 days with 60 days suspended upon completion of the other conditions of probation. Additionally, she was ordered to surrender her driver’s license to the court. Matthew Arndt, 19, of Sahuarita, pleaded responsible for two leash law violations and was fined $65 per violation. Luis Castro Canales, 35, of Sonora, Mexico, pleaded responsible for no insurance and was fined $114. Michael Cook Jr., 30, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for no proof of insurance and failing to obtain a current Arizona registration and was fined $114 and $85 respectively. Brandon Cuthbert, 23, of Sahuarita, pleaded responsible for failing to obtain current Arizona registration and failing to produce evidence of financial responsibility and was fined $85 and $114 respectively. Marios Pena-Meza, 24, of Phoenix, pleaded responsible for invalid registration and no insurance and was fined $143 and $930 respectively. Michael Henrickson, 51, of Marana, pleaded responsible for no valid registration and was fined $105. Rafael Bojorquez, 55, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for no valid license in possession and was fined $165. Carol Paul, 28, of Green Valley, pleaded responsible for failing to yield right of way (left turn) and was fined $164. Laura Miller, 68, of San Jose, Calif., pleaded responsible for failing to stop at a stop sign and was fined $164. Bernardo Escobedo, 19, of Nogales, pleaded responsible for speeding and no tail lights and was fined $135 and $146. Norma Ramirez, 34, of Rio Rico, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $135. Christopher Myers, 32, of Vail, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $135. Gerson Orozco, 19, of Nogales, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $183. Enrique Cordova, 23, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $135. Christian Encinas, 27, of Rio Rico, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $183. Andrea Islava, 52, of Amado, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $135. Cesar Rodriguez, 31, of Tucson, pleaded responsible for speeding and was fined $185.
