Comment on Pima transportation plan

Published: Thursday, May 8, 2008 7:58 PM MST

Special to the Green Valley News

If you missed Pima Association of Governments’ transportation open house in February at the Joyner-Green Valley Library, you still have a chance to comment on the five-year Transportation Improvement Program.

The proposed transportation improvements for the Tucson/Pima County region include national, state and local roadways; transit or bus services; and aviation, bike and pedestrian facilities.

The value of the improvements identified within the fiscal year 2009-2013 Transportation Improvement Program is $1.6 billion and includes projects for Sahuarita and Green Valley, such as the Green Valley/Sahuarita bus circulator service expansion and the Sahuarita Road project.

Residents, businesses and the general public can share their thoughts about the proposed transportation improvements until May 30.

The plan and comment sheets are available online at www.PAGnet.org,

and at several locations, including the Sahuarita Public Works offices at 14311-1 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. and the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council at 101-14B South La Canada Drive.
