All of the Sahuarita Unified School District’s 51 busses were found vandalized Monday morning, some with “Obama ‘08” spray-painted across their sides.

The district’s bus drivers arrived at Sahuarita High School early Monday morning to discover the buses and 25 other school vehicles covered with graffiti, said Officer Sam Almodova of the Sahuarita Police Department.

Most of the busses were able to be cleaned and were ready in time for their morning routes, he said.

The vehicles were covered with derogatory terms and the slogan’s “Sophomores ‘08” and “Obama ‘08.” Several of the buses had been trashed with deployed fire extinguishers, he said.

There are no suspects or leads, though the police department is working closely with the school district to find the culprits, Almodova said.

The vandalism occurred sometime between Friday evening and early Monday morning, he said. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sahuarita Police Department at 344-7000.
