Doris (Tindall) Horton

April 29, 1931 - May 2, 2008

Doris was born April 29, 1931 in Princeton, N.J. to William Edward Tindall Sr., and Mary Kipsey VanHorn, both deceased. She grew up in Trenton, N.J. and trained as an X-ray technician.

On June 1, 1957, she married David Edward Horton, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.

Doris is survived by her husband David, brother William Edward Tindall Jr., of Trenton, her two children, Bethany Horton Klingensmith of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mark Alan Horton of Bethesda, Md., their spouses James David Klingensmith and Nancy Jocelyn Ilgenfritz Horton, and three grandchildren, Thomas Robert Horton, Peter Lewis Horton and Anna Katherine Horton, all of Bethesda, Md.

David Horton served as a pastor in the American Baptist denomination, and Doris and Dave lived in many places throughout the country. They lived in Cardiff, N.J., Saginaw, Grass Lake and Jackson, Mich., Pueblo, Colo., and Fort Wayne, Ind., before moving to Green Valley in 2000. Doris had friends all over the country and world.

Doris worked as an X-ray technician for many years in Pennsylvania and Michigan. She was a kind, generous, caring and giving person and a wonderful wife and mother. She had an abiding faith and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and counted cross stitch. Services were held at Valley Presbyterian Church, May 5, 2008. Another service will be held Monday, May 19, in Fort Wayne Ind., where interment will occur.
