NewsContinental School District’s governing board will meet Monday at 1991 E, White House Canyon Rd. At 5:30 p.m. in the school library, there will be a study session. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a meeting with the following partial agenda: Recognition of Continental School’s Teacher of the Year named by the Elks Club; Also, action on community use of facilities, donations, field trips and fundraisers. Also, consider and approve the revised credit card policy D-1950 DGD; consider and approve a cap of the student population for Continental School for 2008-09 school year; consider and approve the .99 percent pay increase in teacher salaries, pursuant to the 2007-08 state funding increase authorized by the Legislature. Also, consider and approve a student population at the beginning of the 2008-09 school year as follows: (to be voted on separately) 1. For grades kindergarten through fifth, a population of 18 students per class with three classes per grade with an ultimate cap of 20 students per class. 2. For Grades six through eight, a population of 24 students per class with two classes per grade with an ultimate cap of 26 students per class. Also, consider and approve the hiring of a fifth grade substitute teacher, the acceptance of letter concerning accumulated sick leave, the employee benefit plan renewal, a full time technology teaching position for the 2008-09 school year and submitting a Proposed Action item to the Arizona School Boards Association for the ASBA 2009 political agenda.
